Keeping still both mind and body can you merge into the one?
Can your breath begin as softly as a baby's is begun?
Can the mirror of your mind become unblemished as the sun?
Can you love and govern people without knowing how it's done?
 
When the opening and closing of the gates of heaven start,
At this moment can you be the wife and play the female part?
While underlying everything and being everywhere,
Can you make so little motion that no one knows you're there?
 
To nourish things and give them birth.
To produce, but not possess the earth.
To act for all but not for gain.
To master, not control or pain.
This is the power of the good and plain.
